vs. 13 "He had compassion"
How compassionate are we today? We can hardly walk down the street without seeing someone without a home, without money, without decent cloths, or even a bath...What do we do? Most of us probably pass them without even a glance, or walk on the other side, or even turn around and find a different route. Jesus said "even when you have done it unto the least of these thy bretheren, you have done it unto me." Jesus "had compassion" for those in need, those hurting, and those searching. We need to have compassion for our fellow man so that reports of us can go out all over this land and we can say, "it is God working through me, praise be to God and His compassion!! i am just His vessel!"
Luke 7:11-18
ReplyDeleteAnd it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, that a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And this rumor of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about. And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
Jesus was deeply touched when he saw this women, a widow that was suffering from her loss. His heart was moved. We cannot imagine how tender and companionate our Lord was.
Jesus is our light, our sun of righteousness. He NEVER changes. He cannot fail! He cannot disappoint! He lives to heal the broken hearts, to mend broken lives and wipe away our tears.
All you have to do is ask! He never comes uninvited….
