What do people see when they watch me? What kind of fruit am I producing? If people were to watch my life, would they know that I am a Christian? would they see my fruit? Do I have fruit? Am I a good tree?
As I look back on my life, I see all the people I have had the opportunity to meet, talk to, and help. However, when I think about them, I can't say with absolute certainty that I was the person I was suppose to be in Christ. And when I am sure that I tried to do what God would have me do, I don't know that it did any good.
The fruit on a tree is obvious...should the fruits of my labor not also be abvious? Is our fruit always visible?
Luke 6:43-45
ReplyDeleteNo good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
What is the tree and the fruit? I have always looked at it as the heart is the tree and our words and actions are the fruit.
Our heart is the treasure! It is the love of God and Jesus in our hearts. Our heart determines our "mouth" a lot of times, I think. We need to be obedient and strive to live daily in the Lords way.
Good fruit is helping others and not wanting anything in return, not gossiping about people, not judging people, forgiving people and having a connection with the Lord.
Remember: Think before we speak and act!!!
We also need to be patient for the young tree to bear fruit. Pollination with other Christians is necessary for fruit to bear, too. We need to trust that God in his time will make our fruit obvious in the way that He wants
